HYMMD;s Jazz Orchestra; Jazz Ensemble; Jazz Quartet; and, Jazz Trio is an on-going three (3) hour study and hands-on, weekly workshop. Students taught all aspects of music theory, learning intricate musical charts and how-to on American Music Jazz and Broadway Theater music.
Our Jazz Ensemble, The Ambassadors of Jazz perform regularly at community and public events. One of the highlights of the year was their performance for President Obama's Youth for Jazz at the Congressional Ballroom. The musicians have performed with outstanding response from the public.
HYMMD is gearing for a yearly Jazz Festival, featuring both young and top seasoned professional jazz musicians. This yearly festival will bridge the gap for youth and professional musicians reaching for a common goal of greatness.
